Transition to Fully Custom Feeder League Branding
We are officially transitioning away from all NCAA team names and branding and moving to a fully custom system for our feeder leagues.
As you know, MLM is an OOTP Affiliate and Twitch Partner. Because of those relationships, we must avoid any potential trademark or licensing conflicts. Continuing to use real-world collegiate identities creates unnecessary risk. Nothing happened, and nothing was said to me — this is purely precautionary.
This transition will take place over the next sim or two as I roll everything over to the new structure.
Both feeder leagues will operate under a fully custom academy system. All former NCAA identities are being replaced with original names and logos.
EVO (Evolution) will function as an elite prep league for college-age players, and ORI (Origination) will function as an elite prep league for high school–age players.
While the players are the same age groups as traditional college and high school leagues, EVO and ORI are viewed as a level above them.
The top players from those environments enter the EVO and ORI drafts for a chance to earn a full-tuition academy spot and compete in the most elite development pipeline in the world.
